Notice Regarding Telstra’s 4G Calling (VoLTE) and WiFi Calling (VoWiFi) Restrictions
Important Update for Telstra Customers:
Telstra has implemented restrictions on the use of 4G Calling (VoLTE) and WiFi Calling (VoWiFi) on their network. Only specific devices that Telstra currently supports or has previously sold are eligible to use these features. This means that if your device is not on Telstra’s list of approved phones, you will not be able to access 4G Calling or WiFi Calling, which are essential for making and receiving voice calls.
Key Points to Be Aware Of:
- VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and VoWiFi (Voice over WiFi – WiFi Calling) are necessary for making voice calls on Telstra’s network, especially after the 3G network shutdown.
- If your device is not on the list of Telstra-supported devices, it will not be able to use these services.
- This limitation will impact all calls, including emergency calls. If your device cannot access VoLTE or VoWiFi, you will be unable to make or receive calls after the 3G network is deactivated.
- The restriction only applies to phones that Telstra currently or has previously sold. Any device that Telstra has not officially supported will not be eligible for these services.
Why This Matters:
The deactivation of Telstra’s 3G network means that all voice calls will rely on 4G (VoLTE) or WiFi (VoWiFi) going forward. Without access to these services, phones that are not on the approved list may lose the ability to make voice calls entirely.
NBN will be disconnecting all the old copper landlines services this includes FIP’s (FIRE INDICATOR PANELS), emergency lift phones and business/home alarm panels.
Building managers and owners corporations / body corporates are get head by installing Sitecomm’s 4G VoLTE PSTN Dialer in replacement of the copper landlines allowing Emergency lift phones to continue to work without interruption.
This product offers the ability to use a sim card via any 4G VoLTE network to make phone calls via a standard PSTN Line.
BNCom Australia can also supply a range of RFI LTE antennas for your application!
